• In the case of war, is the act of killing by a soldier contrary to divine law?

In this teaching from the Pathwork Guide, we explore the spiritual perspective on war and the act of killing in its context. The Guide explains that, given humanity’s current level of development, war is not the root of evil but a consequence of it.

When injustice and abuse of power arise, people may be compelled to defend themselves and others, making war, at times, the lesser of two evils.

This teaching emphasizes that spiritual judgment is not based solely on outward actions, but on inner motives. A person who fights to protect others, without hatred or cruelty, is not judged the same as one driven by aggression or malice. The deeper focus is on intention, responsibility, and awareness.

Ultimately, the teaching points toward a future where humanity addresses the roots of conflict rather than its symptoms. As consciousness evolves, more peaceful and effective ways of resolving harm will emerge.

The key insight is that true progress lies in transforming the inner causes of violence, not just its outer expressions.
